Xoken.org – Cakap, a Learning Management System (LMS) provider, collaborates with Microsoft Indonesia for the Skills for Jobs Indonesia program. This collaboration aims to provide free digital skills training that is easily accessible to the public.
According to the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), the digital literacy gap in Indonesia still needs to be improved. It can be seen from Indonesia’s Digital Literacy Status in 2022 which shows that the digital literacy rate of Indonesian people is still in the medium category with a score of 3.54/5.00.
The LinkedIn and Asian Development Bank report further noted that 8 out of 10 jobs now require basic digital literacy as one of the main requirements.
With increasingly competitive job markets, Cakap understands that increasing the overall level of digital literacy, as well as opening access to opportunities to increase skills and new skills needed for the future work landscape, is very important in increasing society’s competitive advantage.
To answer these challenges and open up opportunities, Cakap is collaborating with Microsoft Indonesia to offer more than 20 free courses.
These courses are available for free through the Cakap platform, allowing students to access the materials anytime and anywhere using any device, regardless of their education and/or professional background.
The modules provided are also designed to be interactive and interesting material, complete with quizzes, videos and certificates. Topics include the basics of productivity tools, data processing, data-based digital marketing, and digitizing online businesses.
Cecillia Ong, Chief Operating Officer of Cakap, welcomed this collaboration, because it supports Cakap’s vision and mission in improving the skills of the nation’s children, especially in the digital realm.
“We really appreciate this collaboration, because preparing digitally competent human resources is in line with our vision and mission. Moreover, mastery of digital devices has become a mandatory standard for workers, considering that everything related to work has now shifted to the digital realm,” said Cecillia in a written statement , Thursday (29/2).
The partnership between Cakap and Microsoft Indonesia is also strategically aligned to support Indonesia’s 2020-2024 National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) and 2025-2045 National Long Term Development Plan (RPJPN), which target improving the quality of human resources and preparing them to face challenges and 21st century opportunities.

One of the most popular courses at Cakap is the “Microsoft 365 Basics Module” where students can learn the basic principles of productivity tools to improve their performance in various scenarios. With an accumulative rating of 4.89 out of 5.00, this course has quickly become a favorite among Cakap students.
Supahrat Juramongkol, Philanthropies Lead Microsoft ASEAN said he was proud to be able to do this with Cakap as part of the Skills for Jobs Indonesia program—a project we initiated together with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs last year.
As the name suggests, the aim of this program is to help people acquire skills relevant to industry needs. It’s not just about learning how to use technology, but also honing your mindset to adapt to ever-changing technology and methods.
“We appreciate the strong cooperation we have fostered, and we hope more people can benefit from this program,” said Juramongkol.
